Yacht Hire Solent | Hire one of our Yachts for the weekend to explore

Charter Weekend Itinerary

Friday

  • Meet at Port Hamble the yacht is available to you from 1600
  • As a bareboat client you will receive a full & thorough briefing about the yacht and all its equipment. We try to restrict this to an hour but will give you as much time as you need so that you are confident.
  • As a skippered charter client your skipper will brief you about the boat so that you do not waste time the following day and can get straight on with your weekend. Now is also a great time to let your skipper know if there is anything in particular you want during the weekend

By 1800 at the latest you can expect to have completed all the formalities and be ready to enjoy an evening in Port Hamble which is only a short walk away, that is of course if you are not looking to set sail immediately…. Cowes is reachable in an hour and a half after all.

Please note that if you are looking to provision for the weekend locally then there is a large 24 hr Tesco just off the M27 as you head in towards Hamble.

For more immediate items there is a small store within Hamble Village and within walking distance of Port Hamble Marina.

Saturday

The facilities within Port Hamble are excellent so once you have had your shower you can either breakfast onboard or take advantage of the Banana Wharf Bar & Restaurant (located under the Marina office) or The Yacht Catering Company (located within the HYS boatyard at Port Hamble). Both offer a choice of breakfast options although The Yacht Catering company is best if you want to take your breakfast back to the boat and get going.

Depending on wind and tides there are a variety of places to visit all within easy reach. These are just a couple of options if you are new to The Solent.

Option 1: Overnight in Cowes
After a morning sail around the Solent you could opt to stop off at Newtown Creek to enjoy a picnic lunch onboard. After lunch Cowes is a short sail away and if you have time you could easily enjoy the beautiful scenery that the Beaulieu RIver has to offer before mooring up in Cowes.
Option 2: Overnight in Yarmouth / Lymington
If the tides are favorable then Yarmouth or Lymingtonare both great options.(Please note that in the height of the summer you are advised to book a berth in advance as both of these locations are popular).

Sunday

Option 1: Coming back from Cowes
There is much about the Eastern Solent that is often missed. Osbourne Bay is a popular place to anchor for lunch or even a swim on a nice day!! Then if you head towards the forts off Portsmouth Harbour there is plenty of interest en route. Stokes Bay is another popular place to anchor if you don’t want to visit Portsmouth Harbour itself you can opt to anchor in Priory Bay on the island side.
Option 2: Coming back from Yarmouth / Lymington
If the tides are favorable then The Needles and Alum Bay are not to be missed. Then you will have a fantastic sail back down to Hamble.

Returning the Yacht

We ask that you are ready to return the yacht by 1700 on Sunday afternoon at the very latest, please do allow plenty of time to fuel the yacht before you return to your berth and clean the yacht prior to handing the boat back to us. We make every effort to provide you with the best charter yacht possible and to help us maintain our standards we simply ask all our customers to return the yacht in the same condition as they found it.

On return of the yacht we will carry out a quick inventory check and whilst we hope there have been no incidents during your charter we do ask that you are honest with us if anything has been lost or damaged. That way we can provide the boat to next clients in the way that you would expect to find the yacht.
