Universal Sailing School is a fully recognised RYA Training Centre offering the complete range of RYA practical courses from entry level to those for the more experienced.
We operate out of Port Hamble in the Solent and our principal training boat is a Beneteau Oceanis 37. Launched in 2008 she has been kept in immaculate condition and is equipped to a very high standard.
If you are already a boat owner we can also offer tuition & the full range of courses on your own boat if you prefer.

Sailing is an extremely fun and social sport which can be enjoyed by anyone at any level with any budget. It is important however to remember that sailing is not without risk which is why we believe it is essential to get off to the best start, however it doesn’t stop there.
As you gain both experience and confidence you will want to improve on your sailing skills and to possibly gain further qualifications.
The aim of the RYA is to provide a structured learning process. Our aim is to maximise the enjoyment you get from the sport, to ensure your own safety as well as the safety of others around you by learning in a fun, safe and controlled environment.
Our RYA qualified instructors have all been chosen for their sociable approach as well as their expertise to make the time you spend with us as much fun as it is a learning experience.
Additionally the tidal waters of the Solent area are ideal for teaching both novice and advanced students alike, offering as it does not only sheltered waters but every conceivable light, buoy, or situation that you are ever likely to encounter as you progress through the RYA training program.
