Oceanis 343 back in the UK

After waiting for a few days for the wind to ease in Bonafacio it was a relatively short hop up to La Napoule where the mast was unstepped and the yacht loaded onto transport for delivery back to the UK.

She arrived back in Port Solent and was unloaded on Monday 30th Jan.

Delivery of Oceanis 343 back to the UK

After a few delays dealing with the Greek authorities on de registering the yacht we finally managed to get everything in place to start moving this yacht back to the UK.

With everything in place and signs of a good weather window. We flew a crew of 4 out to Greece on Friday 6th Jan to prepare the yacht for the trip back to Port Napoleon in the South of France.

Further delays were caused by a slow moving weather front but our delivery crew were able to set off last Wednesday 11th Jan.

We heard from the crew last night (Friday 13th!!) and they arrived safely into the port of Reggio Calabria at around 6pm in the Messina Straights on the Southern tip of Italy.

They had what could only be described as a reasonable passage. They encountered 30+ knt winds at times and some big seas shut but both the crew and the yacht stood up very well and they are now ready for leg 2 over to Bonifacio.

The weather is looking good and they plan to set off at midday today (14th January) all being well for Corsica. This leg should take around three and a half days.

Then after that it is up to Port Napoleon on the South Coast of France where we will decommission the yacht, unstep the mast and load her onto road transport back to the UK.

Beneteau 50 joins our fleet for 2012

Another new addition to our fleet for 2012 is this Beneteau Oceanis 50.

Based on the River Hamble (Mercury Marina) she sleeps 8 people and is ideal for bareboat charter around the Solent or for longer passages across the channel.

For day charters she is coded for unto 12 guests plus skipper and crew which makes her a perfect platform for a whole range of corporate sailing events.

New to the Fleet for 2012 – Dufour 365

Dufour 365 joins our fleet for 2012.

New at the end of 2008 this yacht has hardly been used by the owner and is in immaculate and like NEW condition. With 3 cabins, heating and a spacious interior she is perfect for weekend sailing around the Solent for 6 – 8 people.

Competitively priced at £925 inc VAT for a weekend in high season she is bound to be popular.

MCA Charter Coding of Hallberg Rassy 36

Following the addition of the Hallberg Rassy to our charter fleet the next task was to code the her ready for charter. This was completed within 4 weeks and she is now fully compliant for Cat 2 Charters for 6 people over 24 hrs and 8 people under 4 hrs.

Loading of a Malo 46 onto Ship for transport to the Caribbean

Universal Yachting were asked to oversee the loading of a Malo 46 onto sea freight bound for the Caribbean.

After a few delays to due weather the ship docked at Southampton and we moved the yacht round from Hamble and as you will see from the video we made sure that everything went smoothly.

Getting Ready for the Winter

Replacement parts supplied to Papua New Guinea

We received a phone call from the owners of “Songline” a 42 Lagoon Catamaran in Papua New Guinea. They had damaged their headboard car for their mainsail, sourcing a replacement in these remote islands was not an option. We were able to source and send a replacement part which they received within 6 days, thanks to DHL !!
